i know i've been neglecting this space.
i miss it.
i miss writing.
i miss catching up with others.
at least i'm finding time to relax and check out some of the local places that have been on my to-do list for months.
last weekend it was an afternoon visit to the boulder dushanbe tea house. what a beautiful spot! i can't wait to bring all of my future visitors here.
stay warm friends! (it was freezing here in denver today. you'd never know it EIGHTY degrees two days ago.)
things are looking good for obama. (please, please win!)
and last friday, we got a call from "hillary duff!"
this is what she said:
"Hi, this is Hillary Duff. You have won the one million prize!!! It will be....(very long pause)...Here's my sister."
"The priiizze wiiiilll beee...of course...you will get...one million dollars...and a massage --a free one at that. By the way, (giggles) um, once you get this...don't do anything. Just go to the massage place and......I think....they should give you your money there. BYE!"
woo hoo! one million dollars AND a free massage.
i wish little girls would prank call us more often. it was awesome.
life is still quite busy, but i wanted to pop in to share a few observations:
-colorado produces some yummy wine. i quite like the two rivers cabernet and the accomodations are lovely too. i'd love to bike through some of the orchards and wineries next spring or summer.
-colin powell rocks. i loved listening to him on meet the press this morning.
-david sedaris is hilarious. i forgot how much i enjoy him until i started reading when you are engulfed in flames. i don't know if this book is particularly good or it just matches my current mood but i am struggling not to read the whole thing aloud to jordan or to giggle nonstop while devouring it.
-this poster is adorable. i'm not sure where i'd put it but i may have to buy it anyway.
i'm super busy right now adjusting to my new job so my posting will be irratic.
hopefully, i will be back soon!
miss you!

Foods of Asia Boot Camp at the Culinary Institute.
Fun and delicious.
I think I want to get a PhD in Asian cooking. Anyone know of a good program?
this is my 2nd favorite photo from the monolith festival. it's me and my boys, the morning benders.
when we first arrived at the venue, the sun was out and it was hot, hot, hot. i wore long sleeves and quickly decided i needed a t-shirt. to the dismay of the many hardcore music fans present, i chose a t-shirt based on design, even though i had never heard the band.
i did see them play and they were cute and fun so i had to make sure i met them and hung out for a bit.
the end.
:)
one highlight of attending the monolith music festival was singing with pwrfl power. well, we didn't really sing with him, but we did get to pose for dorky photos with him.
do you know pwrfl power? if not, you should check him out. if possible see him live. he made me want to give him a giant hug. and then invite him over for dinner.

it was great. the trip ended with a couple of days relaxing in the country. we were surrounded by flowers and trees.
i wish i had one more week there. and one more week of summer.
the days already feel shorter. and i'm not sure i'm ready for the cold.
